Calabasas Candy Co. Review and Giveaway!

WOW! I'm not usually left speechless ( well almost speechless). I had the honor of trying Calabasas Candy Co. Red Chocolate Hearts. The wonderful people over at Calabasas's say that they strive to provide the best quality chocolate, well believe me they do. They have perfected it. As soon as I walked in the door with the box everyone asked "hey what did you get?' My response was "nothing you would like"(I'm not a good liar but I thought they bought it). So I hurried into my room. No lie as soon as I opened that pretty red box it comes in my nephew and son stormed in the room. I swear they could smell it from across the house. After kicking them out I tried one and let me tell you it was complete and utter bliss. It's one of those times when you know you probably shouldn't eat it but you're gonna anyway. It was well worth any addition it may have caused to my thighs. Seriously ladies (and men) you need to indulge yourselves sometimes and there is no tastier way than with some chocolates (or carmels and marshmellows-they have those too) from Calabasas Candy Co. I thought maybe I was being bias cause I like chocolate so much. Nope not just me. I was obligated to share with my husband and he loved them. He is a chocolate snob. He only likes classic candy bars like Snickers and such and turns his nose up to anything else. I definately got two thumbs up from him and he told me to order some more. So here's some info on, in my opinion, one of the best chocolate companies I have tried. Calabasas is located near the California coast, and famous for a relaxed, health consious attitude. They work closely with a local chocolatier who selects only the finest exotic cocoa beans from around the world. Their cocoa beans are all organic and are ethically traded. Their caramels are made from their own exclusive recipe using only the finest fresh ingredients. Believe me I will be trying some of those. But you guys don't have to take my word for it go over to Calabasas Candy Co. and order some for youself. Their prices are great! Calabasas Candy Co has offered their Red Chocolate Hearts to one of my readers. Read below to see how to enter

I was not paid by Calabasas Candy Co. in any way. I only received their product for review purposes. The opinions stated here are solely my own.

Design Divas Wall Vinyl Review and Giveaway

I’m just gonna go ahead and admit it, I’m addicted to wall vinyl. It makes it so easy to give your room that extra little pizzazz and I love the beautiful quotes. It can be very expensive though. As most of you know I just moved. My new house is bigger than my old house so I was in need of some more things to put up. So I went to a craft store here in town and was amazed at how much their wall vinyl was. Some quotes were $50. As much as I may love wall vinyl, self preservation won out and I didn’t buy it (my husband would have killed me if I spent that much on a “sticker” for the wall as he calls it. Men…). So when I found Design Divas on Etsy I was in vinyl heaven. You can also find them on the Design Divas blog. I was given the chance to review one of their designs.

I was sent the “I love you to the moon and back” quote. As soon as I got it I went on the search for where I wanted it to go. I chose my son’s room. Since my son has a bunk bed and I wanted it on the wall above the bed, my husband had to put it up for me (my knee won’t allow any kind of flexibility). So I read the directions to him (Design Divas sends them out with all their orders or you can watch a video demo). It was very easy. If you follow their directions it goes on perfectly and looks great. It was the perfect final touch to my sons room, I love it. So, enough about me lets get to know Design Divas. Design Divas is a mother & daughter team. Although they live in two different cities in Canada they started their business 6 months ago in an effort to combine their respective talents. Alison, a mother of 5, is legally blind. Despite that fact she has successfully run several businesses, and taught her family that you can achieve anything with the right attitude. Rachel is a mother of 3 (all under the age of 4) and although life is crazy, she is happy to use the skills she learned in University getting her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Both mother and daughter share a love of crafts and want to share their love with everyone else. Design Divas Vinyl Lettering & Wall Art creates original design vinyl wall quotes and wall art products that you can apply yourself to any clean, flat surface. Their vinyl quotes come in 4 standard sizes and are measured in inches. All of their standard sizes are $9.95 with the option to upgrade the size for an additional cost. They also do custom orders. All of their vinyl lettering and vinyl wall art products are made from the highest quality removable indoor vinyl (not reusable). Their vinyl is removable for at least 3 years without leaving any residue. They have a wonderful selection, so definately check out their site. The lovely ladies at Design Divas have offered one of their quotes to one of my readers. The quote they are offering is their “Don’t Dream your life, live your dreams” (6x24 inches). It’s a beautiful quote and would look great in one of your homes. See below on how to enter this great giveaway!

I was not paid in any way by Design Divas, I was given an item for review purposes only. The opinions stated here are solely my own.

Tomorrow-New Giveaway

Tomorrow I will be posting a new giveaway!!! Make sure you check back by to enter it!

My Pregnant Dog!

I have a pregnant dog. Yeah, I know I love puppies but I hate puppies. I love them when they aren't mine. I hate potty training. There is nothing more gross then puppy "accidents". Don't get me wrong I love dogs but I like them a little past the really puppy stage. Like when they are somewhat house trained. I'm hoping she doesn't have a very big litter, it's her first. But I'm not usually that lucky, with my luck she'll have like 8 or 9. I have no idea what do to when she goes into to labor. I don't even know what the signs of labor are other than what the vet said. He said that her temperature would drop to 100 degrees. I really do not want to rectally take a dogs temperature. My husbands the one with the stupid idea to get her pregnant so I will leave that lovely job to him. (hahaha) Sorry if there are a lot of typos in this post, my husband and his friends are playing football on the PS3 and I have his friend yelling "Get it baby, Get it baby' in my ear. My fault for having the computer in the game room. Well pray for me that everything goes well with her, and for me that she only has a couple puppies. I am going back to the prison called my bed since I'm not allowed to do anything but keep my leg elevated. I now feel extremely sorry for pregnant women that are forced to bed rest. I have read litterally six (300 + page) books just since Friday. (my grandfather owned a book store so I grew up reading a lot) Oh yeah make sure you enter Divine Designs Giveaway if you haven't it's a beautiful necklace!

New Giveaway for Tomorrow!

Hi everyone, I'm gonna leave todays post short. I went to the doctor and I guess I have something called Compartment Syndrome in my calf. Which basically means I have way to much blood sitting in my calf and its affected my calf muscle. I guess its something pretty serious. If it doesn't get better they will have to cut open my calf to let it drain and they won't stitch it up, they'll just leave it open. YUCK! So I've been told to stay in bed. But tommorrow I will be posting a new Giveaway along with 20 to Life Blog and I know you will all love it. So check back by tomorrow to enter it!

Useless Rambling

I finally got to take a shower last night! It was about time. My husband had to help me get in and out. I also got my stitches out yesterday. I had to sit there forever and only saw the doctor for 5 min. He didn't even look at my knee. Don't you think thats wierd. I thought he should have but no he had his MA take the stitches out and told me to come back in 3 weeks. So I have to have this stupid knee brace on my knee for a LONG time. They said they are gonna keep it straight for 3 weeks, then start bending it. So who knows how long that will take. A is started to feel a little better. She still sounds awful. Her voice is all messed up so she sounds like a little mouse. C is getting ready for his 100th day in kindergarten. So he's all excited. And I just found out that my parents will be coming to see me the end of Feb!! I'm so excited. I don't care how old you get you always need your mommy and daddy. I can hardly wait for them to get here.

How many of you have kids that want to play games on the internet? I know I do. My son is always asking me. It's hard because you want to let them but there's so much unpleasant stuff on the internet that you don't want them to see. So when I heard of I had to check it out. It is one of the easiest and best thing I have done. It only took me five minutes to set up and it's literally hours of educational fun for my son. So you're probably wondering what's Well provides a virtual "toybox" filled with puzzles, games, and all sorts of educational activities that are age-appropriate. Sick Baby :(

Hi everyone! First I would like to thank everyone for all the great advice given on my last post. I think for right now I will leave C in the school he goes to. Another thing I wanted to say was that since I am new to blogging I never knew how many people care enough to give their time to write what they think. It's wonderful, I loved hearing from every one of you. Thank you for that.
Well last night A went to bed around 10. She was so tired and pretty much cried her self to sleep. I thought it was because she hadn't had a nap all day and was just so tired. Well since I got my knee done I haven't been able to sleep very well so it was about 12 by the time I went to bed. A still sleeps with us and was on my side of the bed. My husband moved her and she woke up and sounded like a dog barking. I couldn't believe it, she sounded fine (other than really upset) when she went to bed and 2 hours later sounded awful. So I sat in the bathroom with her while the shower was on hot to see if the steam would help. It did as long as she was in there so I did that several times last night. Today my husband is going to take her to the doctors but I'm not sure what else to do for her. Anyone have any ideas? I think she may have croup. Well wish us luck at the doctors that it's not anything to bad.

Follow up on A

Well the doctor said it's some kind of viral infection. He gave her a steroid to take. Which I hate to give her. It just makes her even crabbier than she already is. He also gave her medicine to give her breathing treatments which should help a lot. He wants me to bring her back in a couple of days if shes not better to do a chest x-ray. I guess to make sure she doesn't have pnemonia. She's still miserable so it's gonna be a long night. C also seems to think that he needs to irritate her all day. I'm ready to beat him ( I want to but I never do). Have you ever notcied that when one of the kids is sick the other one fights for your attention. I'm gonna go nuts!

Switching School?

Hi everyone! As you all know I have a 5yr old. Well in December we moved into a new house and a new school district. So far C is still in the same school ( I have to drive him every morning)and I don't know what to do. I don't know if I should just leave him in the same school or switch to the one closer to my house. It's kindergarten so he only goes for half a day and it takes me 15min. to get him there. It doesn't really bother me to drive him but he hates having to get up earlier. I just want whats best for him. I don't know how it will affect him to have to meet all new people all over again especially when there's only about 5 months of school left. He's a pretty big kid (4 1/2 feet tall and 80lbs.) and so far the kids at the school he goes to get along with him great and I don't want that to change. Also his teacher told me that it would be hard on him educationaly to switch schools. The school close to my new house is supposed to be a nice school, it's a lot bigger than the one he goes to now and is only 2 blocks down the road. I'm so torn on what to do, one day he wants to stay at the school he's in and the next he wants to switch. My parents say leave him and my husbands parents say switch him even though they live 3 blocks from the school he's in now. He's my first child so I am new to all of this and it's so hard to know what the best thing to do is. So if anyone has any advice for me I could sure use it!

Worse than child birth pain

Hello everyone. I had my surgery (ACL) yesterday and I would just like to say one thing... Nerve blocks are great until they wear off. This morning I woke up feeling pretty good, painful but not like I was dying. Around 2pm I definately felt like dying and no amount of pain pills or ice is changing that. And of all days my kids deceided that they would absoulutly lose their minds. They are driving me insane and terriorizing the house. So wish me luck that I will survive till tomorrow.

Short but not so sweet

So a really long time ago I went outside to take the trash out. Seems like a simple thing right? Wrong. I was wearing flip flops and slid down a very small hill and hyperextended my knee. Ouch! It hurt for a couple of weeks, then got better or so I thought. Well now 4yrs later I finally got tired of it acting up and went to the doctor. He then sent me to an orthopedic surgeon. Finds out I tore my meniscus ( I probably didn't spell that right sorry). So I had surgery in October of last year. Six VERY long weaks on crutches and it STILL hurts. So I went back for the 2 month check up on it the end of November. He then tells me that my ACL is bad and needs to be fixed. My first thought was shouldn't he have done that when he did the last surgery? Well he said he thought it would still work right but apparently its not. So tommorrow I get to have my ACL fixed. I am extremely nervous and dreading another 6 weeks on crutches. So if you are all wondering where I am tomorrow I'll be starving from 12 tonight till 2:30 tomorrow afternoon ( I know could they have made it any later?) then off to have my knee done. So wish me luck!

I actually got a babysitter, have any of you ever wondered why it takes surgery or the birth of another child to finally get a babysitter?
